personal attention to each job
Amy’s experience with past well respected employers, clients, and sub-consultants are part of the qualifications she brings to the table. First and foremost her main goal is client satisfaction. She works individually with each client to determine a project process that will achieve their specific desired goals. She believes each client is unique and each site has a simple, authentic solution.
client participation
To ensure client’s needs are satisfied she constantly invites clients to participate and provide input during the design process. After all it should not be a" job" to make a client’s dream a reality.
commitment to design
As a certified LEED accredited professional, Amy shows her commitment towards a sustainable environment through the integration of “green building” design. Innovative design features such as SFI certified wood products, recycled or recyclable finish materials, water reclamation, proper siting of buildings in response to solar access, wind power, and site specific natural systems are ideas that are considered, evaluated and selected early in the initial design planning stage. Incorporation of these ideas are weighed and prioritized. Clients are encouraged to participate in the selection of items that may be included into their project based on appropriateness relative to the design option.
style
Good design should be timeless. The notion that design problems are best solved directly and efficiently through collaboration involving the architect, clients and consultants in the process. Preferred material selection usually involves a palette of wood, steel and glass featuring well proportioned, simple clean lines. The goal is mindful blending of innovation and design.
professionalism
With over 30 years of previous design and construction experience Amy has been involved with residential, retail, recreational, commercial, medical and institutional projects. Early work with Miller/Hull focused on several residential projects. As the firm grew so did project responsibility. During her last five years with Miller/Hull she focused her design skills on larger commercial projects with sustainable features. Public process and presentation are a part of Amy’s client interaction credentials. Today she applies those skills to projects both large and small.
